DWAT is a software to quantitatively analyze the characteristics of the short/long-term changes in water cycle for watershed or water management unit. It is a water resource assessment tool that is available for free all over the world, and it accounts for water balance on hourly or daily(dynamic) as well as monthly or yearly(static) basis. It can be applied to a small and medium sized watershed for water resources planning and management with consideration of surface water as well as groundwater. The DWAT includes a module that can simulate the rice paddy. Also, the DWAT includes a snowmelt routine in consideration with a request by WMO member states and a parameter optimizer as well.
